Villa Kanalos is a beautiful stone-built two-story house in Neratzoules, Zakynthos, with a distinctive character that will offer you a memorable experience. Contemporary amenities combined with the characteristic traditional stone style of the building and the relaxing outdoor areas make Villa Kanalos a holiday option that you will not forget.
The villa carries much more than an impressive beauty; indeed, the owners’ family has been connected to this house for more than two centuries – ever since 1810, when they used to be sembroi (roughly equivalent of the European serfs).
Villa Kanalos measures 140 square meters and can accommodate up to 9 guests. It offers four bedrooms, all of which have access to private verandas. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with two single beds. There is also a bathroom with a bathtub.
The other two bedrooms are located in the ground floor, and they are equipped with a single and a double and a semi-double bed, respectively. On the same floor you will find the living room, the dining area and, of course, the fully-equipped kitchen.
Villa Kanalos’s outdoor spaces are unique and you can either prepare your meals in the built BBQ and enjoy them in the outdoor dining space while gazing at the stunning view, or simply relax in the landscaped garden. There is also a traditional stone tank, which contains natural water that comes from the mountain and can be used for swimming. The water’s temperature is 18ο C (64.4 F) and is cleaned daily. Additionally, on the Villa’s grounds you
will find the chapel of Agioi Theodoroi, which was built in 1340 and used to be an old abbey. It contains the holy relic of the finger of St. Theodoros of Tyron.
Villa Kanalos offers private parking, free WiFi in all rooms and public areas, air-conditioning, a welcome basket, a safety deposit box, as well as 24-hour hot water – and many more! Other extra services such as car, motorcycle and bicycle bike rentals, boat trips and transportation to and from the Zakynthos Airport, can be arranged upon request.

Villa Kanalos is located in Neratzoules, an area near Kalamaki and Argasi. Kalamaki is a tourist resort not far from Laganas (3km), which offers sandy beach with inviting waters. The beach is a natural extension of Laganas beach and is notable for the presence of loggerhead turtles; consequently, most watersports are not allowed there, because this rare species must be protected. There is a variety of restaurants, traditional taverns and bars in the area, and you can take a relaxing stroll around! Argasi is a resort popular to younger people and is located very near Zakynthos town, a mere 5’ drive away. Argasi is built around its main street, which is busy and features many restaurants and bars!
